María Alejandra Migoya » Committee
The International Advisory Committee is a new organism created to ensure the correct dissemination of scientific illustration both for the Award organized by Illustraciencia and for society in general. This Committee is formed by professionals committed to scientific illustration, among which we can find different profiles. From professional scientific illustrators with a long career to outreach technicians who work every day to transmit information with veracity and rigor. Given this diversity, the Committee will be able to work both to evaluate the technical parameters of the scientific illustrations (rigor, technique, composition and style) as well as their communication skills for the general public.

I took classes with Elvia Esparza Alvarado, Mexico; in I and II National Encounter of Scientific Illustrators of Brazil; courses with Diana Carneiro and with Dulce Nascimento, Brazil, with Laura Ribulgo and with Francisco Rojas, Argentina.
I have been trained in teaching through numerous courses and made the Specialization in University Teaching, postgraduate UNLP (2014) and publishing on platforms of this university.
From 1998 to the present, I have given courses of scientific illustration in the UNLP. María Cristina Estivariz accompanied me for several years; Norma Valgañón and Samanta Faiad, in some editions. Also in Buenos Aires; Salta; San Juan; Santiago de Chile convened by the Círculo de Ilustradores Naturalistas de Chile (CINC).
I participated in the Illustraciencia contest in the first two editions and my works were selected, and I participate in the online jury from the third edition to date.
I have co-organized and participated in numerous Scientific Illustration Exhibitions since 1985 to date, given several talks on the subject and participated in several competitions.
Since 1990 I work as Scientific Illustrator in the Botanical Area of the Botanical Garden and Arboretum “C. Spegazzini “, Faculty of Agrarian and Forestry Sciences, UNLP.
