Protea attracted botanist’s attention. who visited the region of the Cabo in South Africa in the CVII century. Lots of species were introduced in Europe in the XVIII century and became very popular among the botanists of that time. The extraordinary Cabo’s flora species diversity is due to the diversity of lands, where the populations can remain isolated and evolve in different species.
