Chamaedorea ernesti-augustii is a palm tree specie distributed among Central America. They are palms with lonely, slim, erect stalks, which can mesure up to 2m height or more, sometimes nearly without stalk. Leaves are bifid, with a pod of 5-15cm long, longitudinally stretchmarked with nerves and a petiole of 10-25 cm long, canalized and green, circular; The leaf has dimensions of 25-60 × 20-30 cm, thoroughly compound and obovate, with deep apical cuts which are dark green above, without green brightness below. The fruit measuring 15 x 08.10 mm is blue-green and it becomes black when ripenning.
