WE ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The membership and the online courses complement each other and address different needs. The membership is designed to build a drawing habit and foster steady improvement over the course of a year. Course exercises are individually reviewed, and the final project includes personalized guidance.
No. The membership is designed for both those starting from scratch and those who already draw and want to specialize. The content and challenges are adapted to different levels, so you can start today, whether or not you have experience.
We open three cohorts a year: in January, June, and October. All members of a given cohort start together, sharing the same learning pace and supporting one another within the community. If you miss the deadline for this cohort, you can join the waiting list—which is open year-round—and we will notify you as soon as the next one opens.
To start, you will need basic drawing materials, such as pencils, paper, and an eraser. Later, you will need colored pencils and watercolors. We will always let you know in advance which materials are recommended for each exercise.
You set the pace. The membership is designed to fit your schedule, so you can dedicate anywhere from a few hours a month to as much time as you like. The key is consistency and enjoying the process.
No problem. You have access to all the content for 12 months from the time you sign up, so you can start whenever it suits you best. And although we suggest a monthly challenge to help you build the habit, following that schedule isn’t mandatory: you can complete the exercises whenever your schedule allows, at your own pace.
Twice a month, you have the opportunity to join online meetups. These are neither classes nor tutorials, and they are not recorded. You can participate however you like: by showing your drawings, asking a question, recommending a book or illustrator, talking about your favorite materials, or simply listening and getting to know other members.
Yes. The videos on techniques and resources will be available throughout the 12-month access period, so you can consult them as often as you need. The two online sessions held each month take place live and are not recorded.
Yes. Although we propose a monthly challenge to help you maintain the habit of drawing, following that schedule is not mandatory. You can complete the exercises whenever best fits your availability.
Once your access ends, the membership content will no longer be available to you. If you have completed the 12 challenges, please email them to us; you will then receive a certificate of participation and a 10% discount towards any Illustraciencia course (online courses are in English) or renewing your membership access.
